INDEPENDENT CAMBRIDGE 

 

During my last semester at Boston University, I was a member of a student group in an advanced multimedia journalism class. Through this course, I gained an array of multimedia production skills and used these skills to contribute to our group's final project. The website that our group created discusses the current state of independent businesses in a market that has become increasingly populated by chain businesses. Independent Cambridge tells the stories of four independent businesses found in Cambridge, MA and how they continue to make an impact on their community. 

 

With the multimedia skills that I took away from this course, I contributed to our project by providing ideas during our pre-production meetings, shooting and editing footage of interviews and events had at the businesses, contacting businesses to be profiled in the project, and scheduling times and dates for interviews with the business owners.
